What Chinese medicines should G6PD deficiency patients avoid?
G6PD deficiency patients should avoid Chinese medicines containing: mint, honeysuckle, coptis, rhubarb, ephedra, and artemisia. These ingredients may trigger hemolytic anemia attacks. Always consult a doctor before using any Chinese medicine and inform them of your G6PD deficiency status.
Can G6PD deficiency patients take Shuanghuanglian oral solution?
G6PD deficiency patients are not recommended to use Shuanghuanglian oral solution. It contains honeysuckle, scutellaria, and forsythia, where honeysuckle and scutellaria may cause hemolytic reactions in G6PD deficient patients.
